About Morden O'Hare
I'm an amateur photographer who enjoys travel and photography and combining the two to create memorable images. My primary 'focus' is black and white nature photography.
I offer my images for sale but they have not been made with this intent. They have been made for my own enjoyment as a relaxing way to unwind from the stresses of daily life and running a business. Hopefully you will get something out of my images - maybe you have been to one of the locations featured in my image galleries or maybe you will be inspired to go there after seeing an image you like.
Artist Statement
My love of the classical look of black and white photography is the main inspiration for the images on this site. Whenever I am 'on location' I am looking for the elements of composition, texture and lighting that make good black and white images. While I appreciate colour photography I find the black and white medium provides greater scope for interesting and creative images - at least for me.
Well known and prolific America landscape photographer Clyde Butcher has said that "Colour is duplication, black and white is interpretation" and I think this sums up well how I feel about the images that I make. I try and convey the essence of whatever I am shooting using my own interpretation of lighting and composition. I hope my results could be considered 'Art' but that will be for you as the viewer to decide.
Equipment Used
I shoot exlusively with Canon DSLR's and a number of Canon lenses. My current camera bodies are Canon 5D Mk2's and a Canon 7D. My most used and most important piece of equipment is my Manfrotto tripod.
